Pancreatitis pain is a pain the average person simply can not grasp. Unless you have had the misfortune of experiencing hard core pancreatitis pain you simply do not have any idea how bad things can get.

That little bit of pain ain't shit compared to a full blown acute pancreatitis attack.
Gunshot victims experience pain relief from morphine but I know plenty of people who have had acute or chronic episodes of pain from pancreatitis that did not find relief from opiates. Hell, demerol didn't even take the edge off of mine. Demerol for me, was like a kid with a little toy bucket trying desperately to put out a forest fire. It didn't do squat.

3 Qualities of Pancreatitis Survivors
Optimism
I have the incredible fortune of belonging to a pancreatitis support group that is chalked full of optimistic people. Sure they have moments of pessimism but for the most part they are one optimistic bunch with a positive eye on the future. Because of that optimism they persevere in the face of pain, they glory in achievements (no matter how small) and lift up their fellow group members with a caring attitude, encouragement, and prayer. If you have been diagnosed with pancreatitis and you are not optimistic about your future you need to become so because "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." – Hellen Keller
From now on it isn't going to be "why me." Instead you'll learn to adopt the attitude of "if it is going to be, it is up to me." You'll get down on your knees ask God to forgive and bless you and then thank God for the opportubity to prove you are worthy to be the cream of His crop by showing Him you can rise to the top. Like cream seperates from milk and rises breaking free from the constraints of average milk molecules you too will do the same. You will become a power to be rekoned with
Hope
Hope is the emotional state of mind which nurtures belief in a positive outcome. Without hope one withers and dies. Once hope is destroyed life loses its appeal but you my friend will not lose hope.
For what is a man without hope?
He is lost, with no vision for the future and so you my friend will become a man or woman of hope. You will stay strong even when weak and you will listen to hope whisper in your ear for "When the world says, give up, hope whispers, try it one more time." - Author Unknown
And you will try.
You will adapt, improvise and overcome.
You will hope. And how exactly will you possess this hope?
Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.- Psalm 31:5 |
How much love does it take to give your only son so that others can live? If you doubt that God loves you simply ask yourself: "Would I give my son up to die so others could live?" And then ask again: "Would I really freely give my son?" It is hard to know what one would really do in such a situation but you probably kinda get the drift of how deep and unselfish a love for others would need to be in order to accomplish that task. So ...
Be in awe of God for He controls all things. "Be still, and know that I am God" - Psalm 46:10
Know that God has a plan for you! “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declared the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
The Lord God will give you wisdom when you ask. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).
Hope, be full of hope for the Lord Thy God is with you, always. God says: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6
Jesus said: "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." - John 10:28 and " ... and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - 28:20
Confidence
You will be confident and know that God will care for you "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." - Psalm 139:13-14
In the above Word of God you take comfort and be confident that He will take care of what He has created; especially sine He created you in His image. "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." - Genesis 1:27
You will be confident because He promises that you have the courage, power and tenacity to accomplish whatever you need to do. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
With an optimistic outlook, hope and confidence in the God who loves you, wants the best for you and promises to protect and take care of you how could you ever lose?
You can't!
It is impossible!
"Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases" - Psalm 103:2-3
"Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." - Jeremiah 17:14
This is Jesus, the Son of The Alighty God in action for those who have faith: "And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 'Who touched me?' Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, 'Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.' But Jesus said, 'Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.' Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'" - Luke 8:43-48
Praise God!
Amen and Amen
