Happy New Year People!

I forgot to post on New Years Day so I thought I'd post today and I don't have anything great to say - Just that I hope (if you suffer from pancreatitis) 2012 brings you a much healthier, and pain free pancreas.

If there is anything you want to know about my personal experience with pancreatitis and how I overcame pancreatitis that I haven't covered please, feel free to ask me about what you need to know. I'll be more than glad to help IF I can.

Happy New Year!

  1. Been following your diet and supplementations. Been feeling good until this afternoon all of a sudden some pain and lots of nausea. Frustrating. Only thing different in my diet was rice and egg whites. Hope it isn't much of a set back. I'm vowing to become vegetarian and have no desire to cheat. I just want to feel good once again and have my energy level come back. Did it take a while for your energy to bounce back? I feel so rundown all the time. Also drinking down the grapefruit juice but wondering if it is making my stomach so gassy?

Thanks for all your great advice! I'm hoping 2012 will be so much better health wise from your site and God helping me to heal!

  2. Hi. I'm wondering if you have researched aloe vera gel and primrose oil and used it in your treatment at all? I'm flared up and struggling and frustrated. I'm doing the grape seed, curcumin, vitamin c and grapefruit juice. I can't figure out what I'm eating that is making it worse unless it is just the food in general so will stop that now.

I read your site all the time and thank you so much for it!

  3. Dear Unknown #1 ...

It is the end of the holiday season and since I don't know what you ate during the Christmas and New Year Holidays I can not answer about your pancreas pain and nausea in an intelligent manner. But ...

If you ate food prepared by others it may be catching up to you and causing a mild bout of pancreatitis. As I have mentioned previously sometimes you or I may eat something we are not suppose to eat (knowingly or unknowingly) and it takes awhile for it to actually cause problems. That is why so many people think they can eat gravy (gravy is always made with fat (beef, pork, chicken, turkey) with their mashed potatoes and then when their symptoms show up a week later they blame the grapes they ate that day for breakfast. Or ...

If you had fruit salad during the holidays made by a friend or family member they may have forgotten to tell you they spike it with a little rum or whiskey, my mom used to and her fruit salad was killer good but a real killer for me. Just a thought.

The rice certainly isn't a trigger for the nausea or pain, egg whites could be but that is a marginal possibility. However, it could be that animal type proteins don't work well with you yet.

It will, most likely, take you some time to regain your energy. First you'll need to begin healing. Once that takes place you'll most likely feel renewed energy as well.

The gas and/or bloating is most likely due to undigested food and or lack of pancreatic enzyme production. Are you taking pancreatic enzymes? If not you may want to start.

Good luck and I wish you better health this New Year :-)

  4. Unknown #2 ...

People have flares around, during and after holidays (read my previous answer to Unkown #1's query). You could both be suffering from what I call Holiday Pancreatitis from eating food prepared by others.

I've researched aloe vera and primrose but not extensively. Neither seemed to show any benefit for pancreatitis, not like grape seed extract, curcumin, vit C and pancreatic enzymes.

Both you and Unkown #1 should fast (rest your pancreas) and increase your vit C, grape seed extract, curcumin and grapefruit juice.

I hope you both begin feeling better real soon. It sucks to be sick and I feel for you and know what it's like. It ain't fun.

Best wishes and better health for the New Year :-)

  5. Thanks for the advice and I will definitely do as you advised. I only ate my own food but figured out that potatoes are what are causing me more irritation. Must be the amount of fiber in them I'm thinking. I really increased the dosages last night and today the pain is much less. I did add aloe vera to my regimen also, I figured it can't hurt!

Your site has truly been a lifesafer! Thank you for it!

  6. Unknown - you are very welcome and maybe you could let us readers know if you have success with aloe vera, even slight improvement could be beneficial to some folks.
