What To Do After Your Pancreatitis Pain Subsides

Ok so what do you do after the pancreatitis pain subsides?

Sleep.
If you are like me an attack of pancreatitis takes a lot out of you. The best thing to do is sleep for as long as needed.

Don't Eat.
If you are just coming out of an attack my best advise is to live on water for at least 48 hours. I would make sure to dose up on the grape seed extract and curcumin. And take a couple asprin or Ibuprofen.

If you get hungry tough, don't eat. It is imperative that you rest your pancreas for at least 48 - 72 hours, while making sure the flame of inflammation is totally extinguished.

After 48 hours, if you are really hungry, try sipping juice all day. Buy some vegetable juice like low sodium V8 or if you have a juicer make your own vegetable juice but ...

NO solid food.

After your pancreas has "rested" for at least 3 days and you have encountered NO symptoms for 72, preferrably 96 hours, on juices then, if you are hungry (your belly feels like it is against your back bone hunger) try a small meal of brown rice and vegetables.

I mean a SMALL meal, maybe half a cup.

If that goes well have another half a cup in an hour or two.

Eat SMALL meals 5 - 6 times per day, IF you are hungry, if you are NOT hungry - DO NOT eat. And ...

If at any time you begin to feel any symptoms STOP eating. And ...

Immediately take aspirin or Ibuprofen, grape seed extract (capsules) and curcumin (capsules) to stop the inflammation.

Then rest your pancreas as explained above.

I suggest you take grape seed extract, 200mgs or more if needed, along with 500mgs or more of curcumin and at least 1000mgs of Vit C on a daily basis.

The grapeseed, curcumin and VitC should become a daily routine. They fight inflammation and help heal your pancreas.

You can buy them all from any well stocked health food store.

You'll also need digestive enzymes with pancreatin 4X. So get them while you are at the health store as well and take them 15 - 20 minutes before EVERY meal. They help take the load of producing digestive enymes off your pancreas.

Remember - this is incredibly important.

If you do not feel well or you are not hungry DON'T EAT! In fact, even after you begin to feel half way normal again - if you are NOT hungry, don't eat! Repeat after me - "If I am NOT hungry I will not eat."

One more time!

"If I am NOT hungry I will not eat."

Ok, I guess that's it for today :-)

Oh, wait!

I forgot to tell you WHY you shouldn't eat if you are not hungry ...

Even if you have NOT had an attack, pain or nausea for some time but for some reason you are NOT hungry and I don't care if it's breakfast time, lunch time, supper time or what - DON'T EAT - unless you have bonafide hunger do NOT eat. And the reason is your pancreas is trying to tell you it doesn't want to work today.

LISTEN to your pancreas.

If you don't it is gonna get pissed off and you are gonna pay, I damn well guarantee it.

Here is a list of the pancreatitis supplements you should take if you want to become pain free and allow your pancreas to heal.
